I thoroughly regret not having given this man and incredible music an album review for his debut self-titled release that was out back in March. I’m talking about Tim Crabtree, otherwise known as Paper Beat Scissors. Upon first listen, his album caught my attention like so much other music has been failing to do lately, and I can say with full conviction that it’s already a favourite album to come out this year. His unique voice drives a collection of intimate song that could be described as folk but are so much more. That’s why I’m regretting not giving it some deserved recognition on this humble little blog.
That’s why when I saw his cover of a lovely Joanna Newsom tune, I thought what better opportunity to share this guy’s talent with world? So here it is. This is a live video filmed by the folks at Here On Out of Paper Beat Scissors covering “Sprout and the Bean”.
