A Toronto collective, the band LI-ON GREVIER is composed of a handful of local indie artists. With that in mind, it makes sense that their sound be unlike anything I’ve heard. In the mix is everything from salsa to art rock. They’re hoping to release their debut record in the coming fall months, but already have two songs that can be listened to and downloaded. One of these is “Apple”. It begins quite simplistically, with just the picking of a guitar and what sounds like a whistle. As the tune progresses, a variety of sounds are added, including strings, brass, and what I can only describe as circus noises. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’ll just have to listen for yourself.
I’ll keep you posted as to any new tunes from this interesting group. Until then, find them on Facebook
